Lifesharing

Lifesharing is a service that offers people with mental retardation the opportunity to live with a family in a supportive and caring environment. It offers the opportunity to be part of a family, while participating in the community, which for many is a long-held dream.

The Commonwealth Office of Developmental Programs and Mental Retardation Services are committed to expanding the availability of Lifesharing as a residential option. To support this commitment, Supports Coordinators are required to discuss Lifesharing as an option with individuals and their families during the planning process.
