Lifesharing is a service that offers people with mental retardation the opportunity to live with a family in a supportive and caring environment. It offers the opportunity to be part of a family, while participating in the community, which for many is a long-held dream. The Commonwealth Office of Developmental Programs and Mental Retardation Services are committed to expanding the availability of Lifesharing as a residential option. To support this commitment, Supports Coordinators are required to discuss Lifesharing as an option with individuals and their families during the planning process. For more information on Lifesharing, contact:Kathy Harte, Mental Retardation Services(215) 685-5947Kathy.harte@phila.gov
