The mission of DBH/MRS is to provide effective, compassionate care and services for people with mental retardation, mental illness, and/or substance abuse issues. Working in partnership with individuals, families, and communities, we provide an array of services to help people face the challenges of daily life and take positive steps toward recovery.

A vast network of agencies offers a full range of treatment options, including individual and family therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention services to assist individuals and their families in emergency situations.

DBH/MRS-funded programs help people return to their communities, enjoy a higher quality of life and achieve a greater degree of independence.
