Treatment for the Uninsured and Underinsured

The Behavioral Health Special Initiative (BHSI) was designed to increase the availability of substance abuse treatment for individuals who are uninsured and underinsured in Philadelphia County.

Comprised of Administrative Services and Intensive Case Management, BHSI provides a wide range of treatment services for uninsured and underinsured people dealing with substance abuse with co-occurring issues, through ongoing contact, personal support, interventions, referrals and advocacy. Services include:

• Detoxification
• Non-hospital in-patient
• Intensive outpatient
• Partial hospitalization
• Halfway housing
• Ancillary services
• Telephonic recovery outreach
